Planning a great holiday for your children could be a little Herculean especially when you are not sure of which destination will be most suitable for them. In addition to this, making a choice of airline could be another challenge. Often, parents want an airline that will offer the most comfort for their little darlings.

If you are planning a vacation for Christmas, it is advisable you start this early. Dubai is a great place to spend your holiday with your family. Flying to Dubai is made easy by Emirates and you can be rest assured your children will have fun all through the flight. They are engaged during the flight with different toys, colouring pencils and many cartoons especially Disney Classics which they can watch on the inflight entertainment hub, ICE.

In Dubai, there are many fun spots specially designed for children. The IMG Worlds of Adventure located along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, along Dubai’s growth corridor, one of the fastest emerging tourism hubs in Dubai, offers a year-round entertainment, retail and dining experiences that your children will never forget in a hurry.

IMG Worlds of Adventure is located 20 minutes from both Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport. It is 20 minutes from Dubai Marina, 20 minutes from the Expo 20/20 site and 15 minutes from The Dubai Mall, making it easily accessible for both tourists. IMG Worlds of Adventure can host 30,000 visitors a day.

For that maximum experience and enjoyment, IMG Worlds of Adventure is divided into four zones. The first zone is the Marvel Zone which sits atop a 350,000-square foot area. It offers a wide range of entertainment experiences from iconic MARVEL Super Heroes, including the unique ‘Avengers: Battle of Ultron’ ride, a stereoscopic 3D multimedia experience. The attractions center around characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and Captain America. The MARVEL name and characters have been licensed to IMG Theme Park L.L.C. by Marvel Entertainment.

Next is the Cartoon Network zone spans 230,000 square feet area and features exclusive attractions including the first ever Ben 10 5D cinema, which hosts up to 1,200 visitors an hour with an exclusive 10-minute 3D movie. Alongside the world’s largest Ben 10 retail store, the zone incorporates the highly popular Cartoon Network brands LazyTown, Adventure Time, The Powerpuff Girls and The Amazing World of Gumball. The Cartoon Network name and characters have been licensed to IMG Theme Park L.L.C. by Turner CN Enterprises. Your children can interact with some of their favourite cartoon characters and take pictures with them at the designated area.

The Lost Valley Dinosaur Adventure zone is a must-see. It was developed uniquely for IMG Worlds of Adventure and it is a home to over 69 state-of-the-art animatronic dinosaurs. The largest of the four zones, it spans a massive 700,000 square feet, including the external coaster ‘The Velociraptor’, which propels guests to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and it is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in Dubai. It could be scary for children who are afraid of dinosaurs but after a few walks around the zone, they will get used to the size and the animated sound of the dinosaurs.

The specially designed IMG Boulevard zone is a great place to see. It covers 200,000 square feet and features a diverse range of exciting attractions, including The Haunted Hotel, vast retail and dining selections, live entertainment and interactive experiences.

Your children can never go hungry at the IMG World of Adventures as they are spoilt for choice with the 28 food and beverage outlets located there. There are Arabic, European, American and Pan-Asian cuisines and all F&B outlets have original themed concepts that offer a range of fine, casual and healthy dining choices.

Also shopping especially for school things is not a problem. The park features 25 retail outlets, spanning a total of 73,000 square foot of retail development, and houses a spectacular offering of over 5,000 product lines including 60% original and bespoke gifts of toys, collectables, fashion and accessories.

Attractions include thrill rides and kiddie rides, 28 original food and beverage offerings, 25 retail outlets and a 12-screen state-of-the-art Novo Cinema multiplex with an IMAX screen and two VIP theatres.

There are many signature rides and attractions that your children can enjoy. At the Marvel zone, they can interact with Avengers Battle of Ultron like Marvel’s Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America and the Hulk as they take to the skies in the Quinjet to battle the evil villain Ultron.  This highly immersive, action-packed ride is the first ‘dark’ ride for Avengers in the world.

The Hulk Epsilon Base 3D is unique in every way. The first-of-its kind ride, it features Hulk as he battles against his deadliest foe, The Leader.  This innovative, 100-seater ride system is the first-of- its-kind in the world and uses a combination of 360-degree projection screens and motion to virtually propel guests through an immersive battle scene experience.

Your children will surely love the Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge, a 400-meter spinning coaster that will propel you through the New York skyline with Marvel’s famous web-slinger Spider-Man, whilst he fights to save the city from the sinister Doctor Octopus.

You can get adventurous at the Lost Valley with the Velociraptor. It is a blast of a ride and it is thrilling to go on the 1.1 km rollercoaster which propels you up with speeds of up to 100 km in 2.5 seconds. It launches you from the deep dark prehistoric jungles of the Lost Valley into the Dubai desert and back.

If you love an adrenaline pumping ride then get on the Predator. The experience is sure to get your pulse racing. This unique ride offers thrill-seekers the sharpest drop track in the region, with a heart-stopping ‘beyond-vertical’ plummet to earth.

Powerpuff Girls are there at the Cartoon Network zone. If you a fan of Powerpuff Girls, you can ride with them and help fight Mojo Jojo’s evil robot creation that is threatening the city to save the world before bedtime.

The Ben 10 5D Hero Time is a must see. You will feel immersed amid a real-life battle scene with Ben and Rook in this epic 5-D multi-sensory theatre that will set pulses racing.

The IMG Boulevard is the bustling welcome zone of the park. It offers you an opportunity to catch your breath with fantastic range of F&B offerings, or stroll through a unique collection of bespoke retail shops and emporiums, or simply sit back and enjoy the ambient street entertainers and performers.

The Haunted Hotel is truly scary and there is age restriction. If you are not lily-livered you can get in to encounter all sorts of scary characters against a ghoulish backdrop.

The cost of entry is AED 245 for adults and AED 225 for children which includes unlimited enjoyment of all rides and attractions. Tickets are on sale via the website and at the ticket counters in the park.
