Managing director, Africa and Israel, Alessandro Patti has said there is a huge potential in the Nigerian luxury sector. He said this at a media meeting to announce his working visit to Nigeria held at the Polo Limited head office, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island.
“Nigeria as we all know is one of the tough economies in Africa, he said. Of course, there is a huge potential. We are trying to explore this potential taking into consideration externalities like the oil price fluctuation, the overall slowdown that affected two other markets two years ago in China. We are trying to cope with these externalities to build and reinforce our brand equity in Nigeria. That’s why we need a solid long-term visionary partner in Nigeria.”
While commending the efforts of Polo Limited in pushing the Cartier brand in Nigeria, Patti said they have confidence in Polo as the sole representative of their brand in Nigeria as they hope to bring a better customer experience to Nigerians.
“We are working on more investment here in terms of distribution. The ultimate goal is to bring to Nigeria the same client experience that a Nigerian can find in France, United Kingdom to Nigeria. And we are working on this,” he explained.
Meanwhile, John Obayuwana, chairman, Polo Limited said his company is proud to be associated with the Cartier brand and he is happy to host Patti and his team in Nigeria.
“It is with great pleasure I warmly welcome Patti and his team to Nigeria. Our business relationship with Cartier is strong and we are happy with the way the brand has been received by our clients,” he observed.
